Bill’s Buzz - Wednesday, March 25, 2009 - 33rd Cleveland International Film Festival

www.clevelandfilm.org

This guy’s eyebrows almost talk as much as he does. I’ve missed some real opportunity to blog about this, but if you have the chance, you need to check this out. The 33rd Cleveland International Film Festival is happening up at Tower City, and there’s still a whole weekend of movies left. I’m personally trying to find time to get up there around my regular work schedule, but I haven’t had the chance yet.

I have a few friends who are getting involved in the festival, and so far it’s been a great experience for them. There are some definite new and interesting movies being screened, some of which will probably not be easy to track down after the festival. There are lots of categories for the films, including a family-friendly grouping and local heroes. Check the web site for times and prices.

Family Films:

  • Between the Folds (previewed in Akron)
  • Family Shorts Programs
  • ORZ Boys (recommended to me by a friend)
  • Princess of the Sun
  • Prom Night in Mississippi
  • School Play
  • Sticks and Stones

Local Heroes:

  • An Alternative to Slitting Your Wrist (one of the films I really wanted to catch)
  • The End of The World as We Knew It
  • Generation Rx
  • Homegrown
  • Not Your Typical Bigfoot Movie
  • Poly Cultures: Food Where We Live
  • They Killed Sister Dorothy
  • Tiny Tears

There are still dozens of films to catch from a lot of different angles, so be sure to check out the updates on the site, or visit Bill every day to see what’s going on.
