better than snl

I was just going to say that the group behind Scared Scriptless is like our local SNL, but it struck me as I was typing it that they are much cooler. The group, made of several local comedians, puts on improv sketches and shows the first Saturday of every month at the Kathleen Howland Theatre, with some shows elsewhere inbetween. They are not only really funny on stage, but also super cool people after the show. You might also recognize them as the moderately-helpful crossing guards at First Friday.

I made it to the show this past Saturday night, but my new camera wasn’t having as much fun. Here are some shots anyway.

Kaylene Williams takes aim at something that is not a lion while Ryan Lynn looks for his gun during a game called “Halftime.”

Williams tries to describe a health spa to David Sponhour without using any real words in “Location, Career, Death.”

These guys sort of have a cornered market as far as local comedy goes, but every show is still a lot of fun. The group is actually coming up on their third anniversary soon (congrats)!

I’ll get better pictures next time, I promise. One member of the troop and a good friend of mine, was out of town for the weekend, so she escaped having bad photos taken of her.

Next time. Next tiiime.
